REMSE CARDIGAN RAFFLED for Ringness Restoration Project

Norwegian folk flavor that’s warm, sophisticated, unique, and Oh! So wearable! The Norwegian Society of Texas, proud sponsor of the Ringness Restoration Project, offers this beautiful Remse cardigan as raffle prize to be awarded in December 2006. Tickets may be purchased for $5 each.

“Remse” is Norwegian for “ribbon,” and the incredible detailing on this sweater is a large part of its appeal. But equally impressive are its pure boiled wool yarns and decorative pewter clasps. It is a unique and wearable treasure. The heirloom-quality sweater is a contemporary interpretation of a famous design that originated in Southern Norway’s Setesdalen in the early 1900’s. Distinguished by colorful woven trims around the neckline, the design established a benchmark for Norwegian sweaters that many aspire to, but few attain as beautifully as this one by Irene Haugland Dahl, exclusively for Vrikke of Norway.

Tickets will be available at the Society’s booth during Norwegian Country Christmas Tour, at the Lutefisk Supper in Cranfills Gap, and at all events during the coming year. All proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the Ringness Restoration Project.

Sharla Wenzel of Six Spokes Signs in Hamilton models the Remse Cardigan.

The Norwegian Society of Texas is a non-profit organization.  All proceeds go to the of the Jens Ringness Restoration Project and are tax-deductible.
