Bosque County Chapter Ladies
Quilt for
Jens Ringness Project Raffle
The
ladies of Bosque County Chapter of Norwegian Society of Texas have been
busy the past several months preparing a quilt for the Jens Ringness
Project Fund. Designed and pieced by Betty Tindall, with the aid of
Charlene Tergerson and Geneva Finstad, the feathered star quilt in
country blues, yellows, and greens, accents a picture of the Rock Church
in bluebonnet season, photographed by member Jan Wallace.
Members of NST
were assisted by friends from the community in quilting. Members—Charlene Tergerson, Geraldine Jenson, Mary Ann Stokely, Evelyn
Smith, Ann Paulson, and Betty Tindall—were joined by Sudie Knudson, Jo
Olson, Dorothy Hollingsworth, and Elsie Phillips to complete the quilt
in 72 1/2 quilting hours. On both days the ladies quilted, lunch was
served by members Frances Seljos, Mildred Patterson, Ruth Shipley, and
Billie Dunnahoe.
The chapter will be selling
chances on the quilt beginning in early April and continuing through the
rest of the year. The quilt will be shown and chances sold at Viking
Fest, Syttende Mai, Septemberfest, and the Lutefisk Supper. It
will also be on display at the chapter booth in the Clifton Antique
Mall. In addition, each chapter will receive a packet of tickets and
information that members and friends may purchase. Chances are $3.00
per ticket, or four for $10.00. All proceeds from the quilt will be
donated to the Jens Ringness Project Fund, and are non-taxable
donations. |
